For highly sensitive content such as ID numbers, bank card numbers, and QR codes, use a solid cover that fully blocks the content and verify that no sensitive information remains visible before exporting.

Image Redaction / Mosaic: Online Sensitive Information Masking

Mask sensitive information in screenshots, orders, ID copies, and other images directly in the browser. Draw a region over the content to hide, choose mosaic, blur, or solid masking, adjust each region independently, and export the result. Processing takes place locally without uploading the image.

Three Redaction Methods

  • Mosaic: Pixelates the selected area through downsampling. Mosaic strength can be adjusted.
  • Blur: Applies Gaussian blur to the selected area.
  • Solid: Fully covers the selected area with a solid rectangle. The default color is black, with white and custom colors also supported.
  • Each region can have its own masking method and parameters.

Region Editing

  • Drag on the canvas to create a masking region.
  • Touch gestures can be used on mobile devices.
  • Select an existing region to move it, resize it from the corners, or delete it.
  • Adjust the parameters of the currently selected region independently.
  • Canvas zoom ranges from 25% to 300% for precise selection.

Undo, Redo, and Limits

  • Undo and redo replay processing records rather than storing the original image pixels.
  • A maximum of 100 masking regions is supported per image to protect browser memory.
  • Export is disabled when no masking region has been created.

Export Options

  • PNG: Default format with lossless output and transparency support.
  • JPG: Quality is adjustable, with a default quality of 90. Transparent areas are filled with white.
  • WebP: Supports transparent output.
  • All masking regions are reapplied at the original image resolution during export.
  • If the long edge exceeds 3000 px, processing is performed at a maximum long edge of 3000 px.

Security Notes

  • Low-strength mosaic is not suitable for highly sensitive information.
  • For ID numbers, bank card numbers, QR codes, and similar content, use a solid full cover and verify the exported image.
  • QR codes and barcodes may remain machine-readable if they are not fully covered.
