Test your typing in Chinese, English or Wubi with live speed and accuracy, all computed locally in your browser.

The typing speed test turns an instantly loadable web page into a speed and accuracy drill: choose a mode and a duration, start typing, and every character is marked as you go while speed, accuracy, error count and remaining time update in real time. When the test ends you get a skill level, and the score is saved to your browser history. All measurement happens locally, and nothing you type is uploaded to a server.
Typing speed is one of those everyday abilities that is easy to overlook but used all day long. Writing a document, answering messages or coding all depend on how fast and how accurately you type. This tool puts both numbers on one page: start typing, and the page marks each character as correct or wrong while showing speed, accuracy and remaining time, then rates the finished run.
Chinese mode suits everyday input practice and counts correctly typed characters per minute. English mode follows the international convention by dividing every 5 characters into 1 word and reporting the result in WPM (words per minute). Wubi mode is aimed at users of the Wubi shape-based Chinese input method: type characters with Wubi and get a characters-per-minute score, or switch to code drill, which shows the Wubi code of each target character and scores how accurately you type those codes.
Five durations are available: 15, 30, 60, 120 and 300 seconds, with 60 seconds as the default, so you can match the test to your practice intensity. Once the test starts the input takes focus and the passage is marked character by character: text you have not reached keeps the default colour, characters you typed correctly turn green, mistakes turn red, and the current position is underlined. Long passages scroll automatically inside a fixed-height area so the line you are working on stays in view.
Four counters above the passage refresh continuously: speed, accuracy, error count and remaining time. Speed is recalculated from elapsed time and correctly typed characters, so even a run in progress gives a meaningful reading.
When the timer runs out or the passage is finished, the page reports speed, accuracy, typed characters, wrong characters and a level based on thresholds for the current mode. Chinese and Wubi are rated across four tiers from beginner to advanced, while English is graded on WPM thresholds. A one-click retry makes it easy to drill again and compare runs.
Every finished test is saved as a record with speed, accuracy, mode and duration. The history panel summarises the best speed, the number of tests and the average speed for the current mode, and lists the latest ten runs so you can watch progress over time. Because the units differ, summaries stay within one mode instead of mixing characters per minute with WPM. Records live only in your own browser and can be cleared at any time.
To practise specific content, paste your own text into the custom passage panel — a paper paragraph, a novel excerpt or a work document — and apply it as the passage; the default text is always one click away. With keyboard highlighting enabled, an on-screen keyboard lights up each key as you press it, which helps you check finger placement and find blind-typing gaps.
Pasting is blocked and the passage cannot be selected, so results stay comparable. To restart, use the restart button, press Esc, or press Tab while the input is focused. To improve, practise accuracy on longer passages first and speed up gradually: the usual bottleneck is not finger speed but the rewrites caused by too many mistakes.
The tool does not rely on server-side calculation: the passage library is embedded in the page, and speed, accuracy, levels and history are all computed in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored on a server. Refreshing or closing the page clears unsaved input, and local history is removed when you clear your browser data.
